Wayne County's trustees have been generous supporters of Everest Energy. The original investment passed unanimously, and trustees approved another $1.062 million for Everest Energy last October.
Trustee Lorenzo Moner said he thinks Everest Energy is a good investment after visiting Wyoming last summer to "kick the tires." Moner and several other trustees stayed in a $300-per-night dude ranch near some of the wells last June.
"I was impressed," he said. "They showed us wells and pumps, and we met some of the ranchers. In October, they offered us a chance to buy in more, and we said, 'hell, yes.' "
